Are you a "bloghead"
yet? LOL That is what my sister called me. Here
is the link to my blog. It is great journaling tool and a wonderful
way to meet new people of like mind. Quilters have hit blogging with
both feet!
Two
new stitchery pattern packets have been added! Yulethyme and Backyard
Bounty. Go HERE
to check them out. We also have added a new pincuhsion set, Pocket
Sewies. Remember all my packets come with complete
instructions, supply list, full size templates and full color
photographs.
One question I get asked so much, is
about aging my projects. There are so many different twists on this.
From the traditional tea and coffee, to dye, to shoe polish! Something
new I have really enjoyed working with is Walnut Crystals (I
purchased mine at Michael's). A little goes a long way. The fabric
loves it!! As does paper. It works nicely in my spray bottle. Just
remember, it is a for keeps stain. You can always add more, but cannot
take it away! And be sure to do it outside and not on a blowsy
day! :o)
I
love to embroidery. It is so relaxing to me. I use an ultra thin
batting, like Pelon under my foundation piece. This gives me the
freedom of carrying my thread and hides any shadows on the top. It
also gives the piece a more dimensional quilty look. I prefer to stain
my foundation before I stitch, then I lightly stain again with the
spray bottle after the entire piece is completed. This takes any
"bright" out of my thread and fabrics and blends things
together a bit for a more time worn look.

*Cucumber Salad*
Peel 2 medium cucumbers. Slice into
1/2-inch slices and then slice in half. Place these into a bowl. Add 1
pint of cherry tomatoes sliced in half. Roma will also work. Add 1/2
c. black olives sliced in half. Add 1/2 of a large purple sweet onion
chopped coarsely. Pour a regular size bottle of your favorite creamy
dressing over top and mix well. Refrigerate at least 4 hours before
serving.
*Wilted Lettuce*
Fry 4 slices of bacon, the real stuff
not turkey. Take out the bacon and lay aside. Tear up a head of
lettuce in eatable pieces. Drop this into the hot skillet and cook on
low for about 2 minutes. Crumble the bacon and mix into the lettuce.
Sprinkle with a dash of pepper. Give it all a good stir. Place into a
serving bowl. Serve hot. Yummy with cornbread.
*Pizza Pitas*
This is great fun for youngun's to make
for lunch.
pita
pocket halves
1
jar of pizza sauce
1
package of mozzarella cheese
your favorite pizza toppings--pepperoni, cooked ground beef or
sausage, onions, mushrooms, black olives... Spoon a heaping
tablespoon of pizza sauce into each pita half. Coat the inside
of the pocket well. Add a bit more. Layer in your pizza
toppings. Add the cheese last. Place on a microwavable safe
place or dish. Microwave for 1 minute or until cheese is melted.
